2018 Season is here!!

Welcome…the 2018 season is here!

Sophia Boucher, DMTC President

The Dorval Municipal Tennis Club (DMTC) has been around for more than 90 years and hopefully will exist for many more! It was first known as the Dorval Country Club from 1925 to 1969 and was located on Brunet Street, prior to being moved to its present location on Dawson avenue in September 1969.

One of the DMTC’s most enviable assets is the location of its 8 clay courts separated by the clubhouse and a beautiful grassed area with many mature trees that provide precious shade to the spectators comfortably seated at picnic tables. Additional assets include our young Pros who actively participate in the Club’s activities as well as the presence of monitors on site at all times. Finally, let’s not forget the possibility of seeing some very good, high caliber tennis matches during the DMTC’s hosting of the Men’s Veteran Provincial Tournament, for two weekends in late May - early June.

New this year, guest fees have been established at $15/Person/Day and non-members can come and enjoy the Club without having to be accompanied by a member. Anyone can come play tennis for a maximum of 5 times during the season (after paying the guest fees), as we are certain that after 5 visits, you will consider becoming a DMTC member! The amount of guest fees paid can be subtracted from the membership fees.

Furthermore, in 2018, all new members will get a 20% rebate on the regular membership fees (rate after May 1st). If the new member was referred by a DMTC member, in order to thank them, the DMTC member will receive two (2) guest passes to invite other friends, neighbors, members of their own families, etc. for the 2018 season.

Finally, there will also be something new regarding the end of year Club Tournament. There will be two (2) categories this year, A and B, in order to allow more Club members to join the tournament. B players can decide to sign up for both categories for an extra challenge; we would really like to see more Club members getting involved in the Club tournament. There will also be changes with regards to the tournament prizes, which will be more participatory. More information will be provided during the course of the season.

Back again this year, a Season Opener Mega-Round Robin (RR) in May, 1 or 2 additional Mega RR during the summer,  Friday RR at lunch time, once a month,  RR every Friday evening at 6 :00 pm, from May to October, private/semi-private or group lessons with our Pros, Women’s and Men’s Interclub teams, Weekend clinics for beginners starting in May, Weekday 2 week sessions for juniors; starting right after St-Jean Baptist Day, Fitness courses ‘Fit to Hit’  1 or 2 evenings a week and the End of Year Banquet in September.
